Thankfully, 4-gas meters take care of all this for us!

I recently saw a guy connect his hose to the monitor, drop the hose into the manhole, and then turn on the monitor. He basically told his sniffer to use the air inside the hole as the fresh air baseline. Ugh!

Ok... I have a hard time selecting one... what you are measuring is usually 4 gasses, O2, LEL H2S and CO. the general statement of "Toxic Air". If you are using a 4 gas meter there is no "order" but, depending on the oxygen level it could throw off one of the other readings, but the same could be said for a solvent.
