Warehouse forklift loading ramps.
When is it okay to use a forklift ramp to load a pickup/trailer or a flatbed while they are on the ramp on an angle?

It is fine but the forklift should not turn around on the ramp. They need to just go up and down and move that way, and not do a full turn around. A loading dock is obviously best though :)

"Fitz's First Rule of Safety - If it looks unsafe, sounds unsafe, smells unsafe, tastes unsafe, or FEELS (in anyway) Unsafe, it is in all likelihood UNSAFE. DO NOT DO IT!"
Driving a heavy PIT on any ramp is risky. SB is right, no turning, but also no pedestrians, and the load must be upgrade?
How about the weight of the PIT and the load? What kind or ramp you talking. Is the ramp self-supporting or resting on the Pickup? The frame of a 1/2 ton normal pickup would NOT support the weight on a standard industrial PIT even if it was empty!
Any occupant in the bed would be an immediate no from me. Too many events can happen in a space with no safe escape. Your note also states, "trying to pull the load onto the pickup bed." I expect this was a heavy load posing a strain risk for the person "trying to pull the load."
I would also say no to loading into the pick-up bed with the bed at any angle.
I’m doing some R&D and looking for any others that could give there professional opinions about loading and standing on a warehouse ramp, loading a ATV onto a pickup truck with a forklift? Management / Safety Management / Forklift operator? I would like to see if everyone is on the same page.
Thank you.
