Confined Space Rescue Teams
OSHA's Permit-Required Confined Spaces standard (29 CFR 1910.146) requires employers who enter permit-required confined spaces to evaluate and designate a rescue service if non-entry rescue is not feasible or performed. Some companies rely on the local fire department to respond, some train their own employees to serve on an internal confined space rescue team, while others hire out third-party contractors to perform rescue standby.

Fire department all day

The old papermill I was at used an inside rescue team that was trained in all non-entry rescue operations and then coordinated with JFRD for any entry rescue confined spaces.

I am fortunate to have a robust Emergency Services availability, City, Federal and County all capable with needed resources. All three have special services capabilities.
