Safety Audits
Hi all! I'm looking for some input from people with experience when it comes to auditing their company work sites.
Do you guys use a scoring system or do you just follow a pass/fail marking system?

We do not score, rather assign findings and corrective actions for each non-compliance.
We use safety reports . It rates from 0-100 and deducts a percentage 5-15% depending on the severity of the hazard. You can choose the deduction.

Hi there, yes, I use a color coated pass/fail system. Here is an example that I’ve used this year. I conducted an internal HAZCOM audit and involved QA, R&D, manufacturing and engineering. Green is 90% or more in compliance, yellow is 50%-70% in compliance with a few elements missing, red is not compliant with many elements missing. It has actually worked quite well and has helped me determine what are the biggest gaps in the program. Once I designate the scores, I develop action items, present it to the leadership team for approval, and confirm the due dates for all action items in our online management system. I used this system for a series of questions that relate to HAZCOM and assessed the score for each question.

Honestly we just list out recommendations and corrective actions. We really don’t adding scores. That being said I’m interested to hear about people who do utilize a scoring system. Feel free to drop something in the content center if anyone has anything on it!!
