LOTO Audit
Hello everyone! Beginning a LOTO audit which I hope to finish by the end of the week. I am doing this audit to confirm that all sources of hazardous energy have been accounted for/have LOTO procedures at our facility.
Does anyone have any tips for making sure all things that can/should be locked out are accounted for?

I suggest tackling it room by room. Work with a knowledgeable person for each area so you understand how the equipment works, what kind of maintenance - if any - is performed, and which forms of energy it uses. At the end, be sure to develop a database so you can review annually and add/remove items as necessary.

For the specific machinery, get the maintenance person who works on it to show you how to do it with the LOTO procedure. They will let you know if the procedure is correct or not.

I always worked with maintenance/facilities to check their PM system to make sure I was at a minimum aware of all of the equipment my employees work on. They also usually have equipment that a 3rd party works on listed in their PM system.
