Are you a member of a professional safety organization?
I was wondering if anyone is a member of a safety organization such as the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP)?
If you are a member, what are the benefits, your favorite part of being a member, or your most favorite activity that your chapter hosts?
If you are not a member, why not?

Anyone working in united Raba Emirates or Midle east?

Getting ready to transition out of the military into the civilian sector of safety. Would like to learn more.

I am a very inactive member of the Rochester ASSP chapter. Would like to participate more, but honestly, SK takes up most of my free time (totally worth it though)

I am a member of the ASSP. Loved the seminar fest in Vegas. Went in 2019.

I would like to gain my ASP certification!
Shortly I'm gonna member of ASSP.

I am a member of ASSP, AIHA, and NSC. I highly recommend ASSP for all EHS professionals and AIHA for anybody who deals with IH. Great resources, networking, and events (specifically conferences and PDCs).

I’m the Co-Founder of the Tampa Area Safety Peer Group and a member of the ASSP and ACFS (Alliance for Central Florida Safety). The primary benefit is networking and connecting to other safety practitioners to share best practices.
I am a member of ASSP.

I was. I was a very active member in college. But I've been working for 2 years and haven't utilized any of the benefits. I do want to take the courses eventually and go to the next conference after this year. I will renew when the time comes

I am a member of ASSP, AIHA, and NEHA. the various local chapters I have been involved with (I move a lot) are incredibly friendly and host awesome PDCs. ASSP's national conference is also really awesome and I really recommend everyone to go if they have the opportunity. They really have something for everyone with the variety they offer in session topics. Their interest groups are awesome and I love that they invest in students and early career professionals. They have helped connect me to a lot of people who have taught me a lot about EHS over the years.

I'm a member of the ISHM (Institute for Safety and Health Management), they fall under the IHMM (Institute for Hazardous Materials Management). I joined this organization to get the CSHM certification. Similar to the CSP, however it focuses more on growing and managing a safety department, as well as other business practices.

I joined the ASSP org based off a recommendation from someone I connected to on LinkedIn. I haven't really used it that much but I am sure could be good for networking if used properly. It's used primarily now as a place holder on resume for professional organizations.
