When should I be worried about chlorine off-gassing?
We use some solid chlorine around our manufacturing facility to help with our water treatment. It’s not much, but we do have some solid chlorine storage. When is there a risk of chlorine tablets off-gassing? As in, under what circumstances would solid chlorine start to form chlorine gas?

SO ran across this topic today at work So I decided to do a search and figured I would revive this one.
Does anyone have an emergency escape plan for their company for say a pool workers or water treatment plant operators?

Interesting topic. Honestly I would always worry about chlorine off gassing. As Adam Cox said below, follow the manufacturers storage recommendations. Chlorine is not something to take lightly.

This is an interesting question, thanks for raising it! & Thanks for the reply, Adam!

I would follow the manufacturer’s storage recommendations which would be in the SDS. From my understanding, the solid tablets are fairly stable in cool, dry, well-ventilated spaces (confirm against your SDS). Any heat or sunlight will accelerate the degradation process.
