Floor time
What have you done with your schedule, time etc to allow yourself a greater ability to spend time with front line employees?

I would walk around in the mornings, say good morning, and talk to people about their life, and then safety. When doing inspections, I would make stops along the way to speak to employees and get to know them. So throughout the day, if you have to do something, take extra time and talk to employees while on the floor. If you are noticing you aren't getting out at all, take an hour a few times a week to meet people. Check on a risk assessment or a LOTO procedure of a machine in the area where you want to go if you don't have a reason to be there. But definitely make an effort to earn trust.

Much like when it comes to personal investments, your 401k comes out before you get your paycheck. Do the same with scheduling floor time - Put it on your calendar and stick to it.

I’ll work with each department to write a JHA or two every other week. It’s a great way to spend 20 minutes plus you get to meet pretty much all your frontline workers

I think a great activity when onboarding is to get a thorough tour of the site and meet all of the front line managers/employees. Depending on the size of your site, you may not meet each employee. The important thing is spreading awareness of your presence, fostering connections with managers/employees, and learning as much as you can about their operations.
