I have been into the safety profession for a couple of years now full time. As I started to join communities like this, podcasts, forums, etc, I could see a great common denominator: the empathy and openness to share and offer knowledge to other colleagues exceeded my expectations. I have learned tons from people who openly share advice in these communities. That tells me this profession is full of honest and dedicated people who care. I'm glad I joined this job-lifestyle.

Agreed! Glad to have you with us Armando - hope you stick around

I agree that Safety pros want to share information - the bottom line and goal is to keep people safe.

You raise a great point, Armando. I have also noticed that colleagues in the field are always willing to help. Some professions encourage the “figure it out yourself” mentality, but I have not encountered that within safety. Luckily, I think we all share the common goal to keep our employees healthy and safe so they can return to their families the same way in which they arrived for work.

I agree with you 100% I have met so many great people in this field. People share because they care. It don't matter where the knowledge is used, I believe if something we offer can save a life anywhere, it should be openly shared. Like how Volvo created the 3 point seat belt system with no patent so all vehicle manufacturers could implement it.
