What does holistic safety mean to you?

The health & safety program at a prior, much larger employer (about 700 employees local, 75000 worldwide) was work/home oriented. Current employer (100 local, 2000 national) focuses more on workplace.

I agree with Brandy. To me, holistic safety looks at protecting the employee in a broad sense - not just in one aspect of their job. A holistic approach will look at all aspects of both work and life. A good program will give employees the tools and resources to live a safe and healthy life through assistance programs, healthcare, counseling, tobacco cessation, etc.

I feel like Holistic Safety and "total worker health" go together. So ensuring that workers perform safe practices or live a healthy lifestyle at home as well. This ensures that their employer educates them on items like nutrition, health, and safe work practices for home activities.
