What methods do you have to deal with job related stress?
Safety is stressful, even when things seem to be going well, I still feel stressed at work over a variety of things. It's manageable but I would love to hear any tips you have to managing the stress of a safety job.

I echo a lot of the comments already provided, especially time management and being realistic about what you can take on each day or week. Make sure that if others are responsible for performing safety functions, that they are doing so. Make sure you were not doing all the heavy lifting with safety!

Safety is stressful, I agree. Here are tips I have used:
1. Make a to-do list. Strike through the items you get accomplished. Accomplish the easy items first (the ones that take you a few minutes or a half hour).
2. I have a list of things I am grateful for above my computer (My significant other, my pets, healthy body, etc)...I look at this when I am feeling stressed and read it. It actually switches your mindset for a minute to feeling grateful and hopeful. I highly recommend this one.
3. Walk outside during lunchtime. Or leave the work area. Go to a local high school and walk the track or go to a gym and workout. This helps me think more clearly and gives me a mental break during the day.
I hope you help yourself stay mentally healthy. Please reach out to me if you need anything...I am here to help. Even if it is to rant or if you need someone to talk to.

My boss and I both feel the need to workout at some point after work. It helps me clear my mind. It's my go to for any type of stress.

When the emails keep pouring in and deadlines continually approach, I sometimes have to take a few deep breaths, go for a short walk on-site, and return to my desk with a clear head. Noise canceling headphones and music also help me a lot.

Being proactive is huge, if I'm constantly feeling like I'm working towards something I find myself getting less anxious. Also finding other coworkers and colleagues to confide in helps too.

If your stressed find things to do around the job site, find projects you can improve on. Don't sit around waiting for something to happen. Find a new project, quote some new supplies, do some research. The worst feeling is sitting around waiting for the day to pass, that leads to idle thoughts which can lead to overthinking and stress.
