Must Join Memberships
What are some must join safety memberships or professional organizations? Why are they must join/what do you get out of being a member?

I live close to my local sections of ASSP and AIHA, so I find it really helpful being an active member in each. I am an early career professional so it also helps me stay involved as an alumnus of my IH program.
1. ASSP: networking, webinars, monthly meetings which usually incorporate some form of continuing education
2. AIHA: same perks as ASSP plus they have an amazing digital library containing lots of must-have resources for those who practice IH. Local section meetings seem to be more infrequent.
3. National Safety Council: good events but they seems to be more infrequent (I think that is because their events tend to be full- or half-day conference-type events). I was involved with them at a recent position but no longer involved at my current location.

IHMM is another good organization, they recently merged with ISHM and have several good safety certificates that focus on management and safety program building.

Always in my book Join your local Chamber. Networking with local manufactures through them is such a great tool.

I am still finding my way but I will keep you posted! I am currently a member of NSC and ASSP.
