Disciplining workplace friends for safety concerns
A couple guys I work with I’m pretty close with on the job. I’m the only safety guy on-site so basically if there’s a safety issue involving them I’m the one that has to confront them. One of them made a pretty bad mistake recently which kind of put me in an awkward position. Obviously had to do my job and talk to him about the issue. Anyone else have this problem at work?

Yes that happens but got to be honest you must handle it the same and if they are true friends they must understand that. Otherwise I guess you don't need that kind of friend.

Yea that’s always been awkward for me too. It’s part of the job though and pretty much any position with authority (supervisors, managers, corporate managers) has probably had these encounters. Just let them know it’s not personal
