Time management tools
How do you guys optimize time management on the job? I’m pretty scatter brained and find myself bouncing around since there are always projects that require attention. I’m wondering if it might be better to focus on one or two things each day as opposed to eight or nine. How do you guys manage your time?

Our organization subscribes to "Traction" philosophy and their website "Traction Tools." Which is helpful for prioritizing my weekly, monthly, quarterly goals. I have weekly To-Dos and milestones I work toward on my quarterly rocks (goals), as well as things that come up with my bi-weekly superintendent check-ins.
Everyone has to-dos & rocks - the program keeps us accountable to each other & the company goals.
I've struggled with this a lot since coming out of field work. I try to write down 5 goals for things I want to complete each day and organize from most important to least. Don't bite off more than you can chew. If you write them down the night before, it starts you off in the right way the following day...that is, until someone comes in with a new problem and you have 10 more goals, ha!

I've always prided myself on my organizational skills. However with my current job, that is no longer the case. LOL
My company manages 30 + senior housing communities and I'm the dedicated HR Generalist for 15. I managed all 30 up until 7/2020! YESSS..I was beat!
I also manage W/C FMLA, LOA, ADA, and other pieces as well. The HR dept has 4 EE's and we stay swamped. It is difficult for me to stay caught up sometimes as well!
I just try to prioritize the best I can and keep it moving. Making a TO DO list seems to work ok...I enjoy seeing tasks highlighted (marked off)!
