Safety Leaders
There are days when I don't feel like doing the job. Days when I feel as if all the hard work and time investment goes unheeded and unappreciated. Days when I just don't feel like any of it's worth it. On those days, I look up to the white board in my office and see this:
"The size of you assignment never determines the significance of your impact."
and
"It's OK to thin that you can't do it, but that doesn't mean you're right."
Two simple quotes, combined with Philippians 4.13, help me strive to be better.

Great post! When I started my first position in safety I had no idea what I was doing or what I was getting into! Positive affirmations and quotes posted at my cubicle helped me get through it!
And, I have felt like that a lot the past year or so. It sounds like maybe it will never go away completely but I feel like I have a lot more confidence in myself today than I did in 2017 when I first started.
I draw my inspiration to never slack on safety from my history in incident investigation, and my exposure to investigations for fatalities that happened during my years at the refinery. Those are learnings I cannot forget.

Definitely a role that requires an altruist. Need to be willing to give more than you get, once I wrapped my head around that I felt my position was much more rewarding

I know, sometimes this job gets tough. Know that there are other like minded safety professionals who are going through the same thing!!! reach out!

I understand completely.
I have come to terms with assignment/ profession.
We will never completely get over the stigma of our profession
its very difficult to be friends and a SHE leader at the same time
one thing for sure, I have lost all of my feelings when wearing a hardhat...….you cant have feelings and be a safetyman. Keep your chin up and always remember that that our deeds do go unnoticed most of the time but because of those deeds a lot of people in the country get to go home to their family and enjoy life

I know exactly how you feel...always great to have some sort of motivator to get you through the hardest of times
