NSC and ASSP Membership
Hi
I have been looking into membership with the National Safety Council and then started to research the American Society of Safety Professionals (this would be my first time joining a group like this). Any thoughts on either?
Thank you.

NSC membership i useful if you plan on using their safety webinars and/or safety course materal to teach employees. If not, ASSP is more beneficial.

I am a member of both organizations, and have been for some time. If you can only do one, ASSP would be my hands down first pick. My local chapter puts on great monthly meetings (or did prior to Covid) and the network has allowed my personal network to grow almost exponentially. The topics we cover are always interesting and do a great job of expanding my general knowledge base. Also, depending on the chapter they also have study groups for different certifications.

Thanks Alex, I too am interested in attending a future conference. My curiosity was peaked last year when the NSC was in San Diego and I heard a few interviews from there. I currently can only join one but I am leaning towards NSC.

Just my .02$ here. A membership is worth for me because I get the points for certification , and my work pays for it. I have yet to attend one of their conferences, but would be interested in doing that when it's a good idea to have large gatherings again.
