Safety Shoes
Hey All.
What shoes brands have you found to work out for employees working on the shop floor and are on their feet all day.
The only requirement is toe protection.
Thanks,

We use Red Wing and have had mostly good results. Sometimes an employee may have larger or smaller than normal feet. In these cases I'll let them buy their own shoes as long as they meet our safety requirements. Working in a shop is tough and boots tend to need replacing at least once a year.

I think this really depends on work tasks. If they will be doing maintenance activates or servicing equipment, I would look for something that is easy to clean or oil resistant. boots may be best for this instance. Our company goes through Red Wing for boots. Employees also have the option of finding shoes online and we ensure they meet the ASTM 2413 standard before purchasing the shoes for them.
A lot of our employees who are in production seem to enjoy Reebok alloy toe safety shoes. I recently got a pair and they feel almost exactly like a pair of tennis shoes. I love them and so do a lot of my co-workers for being so lightweight.
Another option is to look in to insoles for shoes/boots that may alleviate some discomfort associated with working on a concrete floor during an entire shift.
