What are your work safety goals for the rest of 2020?
Here are mine:
-No recordable injuries for the remainder of the year
-Close out 75% of open near misses
-No workplace COVID cases
-Internalize at least 2 inspections that are currently outsourced to save money
-Improve PPE management system
What about you guys? Looking to get some ideas to add to my list

Nice list! Curious, why no recordable injuries/illnesses? You don’t want anyone to get hurt and no one wants to be hurt. I think the goal is admirable, but we felt zero recordables didn’t help us move the needle. That’s because you can have zero recordable injuries but be lucky. For us it is more about measuring proactive initiatives which help us achieve that outcome. It also helps all employees understand the relationship between hazard, severity and a hierarchy of controls based probability. Simply put, we try to measure what we’re doing to influence zero significant events (zero serious injury/fatalities).
We still measure TCIR and DART, but only with site leadership and the safety team given it is still a metric used by OSHA. We also take our injury case management process seriously and try to learn from each occurrence regardless of outcome.
1. Increase my teams field presence in a positive manner
2. Grow my teams abilities
3. No recordables for the rest of 2020

My goal is to not contract covid :D
We layout an EHS Business Plan at the beginning of the year so we've maintained some of those goals, such as TRIR & DART rate goals simply by having reduced man hours in more hazardous work. Since we've been slow, my personal goals have changed a bit. I've been aiming to update procedures and programs that we have, but have not previously had time to refresh. It's slow work involving a ton of reading, but it will pay off in the long run.
