Bone Conduction Earphones + Ear plugs
How have you approached bone conduction earphones being used in conjunction with ear plugs?
I have not seen published research on the combination of the two.

I don't allow them at this time. The door isn't closed on it yet but we don't allow ear buds of any kind only, bluetooth speakers. I think I could get onboard with it with more research.
We do not allow wireless or wired headphones in the industrial areas of my DOD/USN facility.
We also don’t allow headphones while walking or operating powered industrial vehicles. That’s a losing battle though.

I actually promote these types of headphones over the use of in-ear headphones. I had one of our summer seasonals bring in her pair for me to try. I liked the idea so much that I purchased my own set. We recommend Aftershokz. But we make it very clear that they can use these but they still have to wear earplugs if the noise level is over 90 dB. You can check out them at https://shokz.com/

Any additional development on this topic, Karl? I'm looking into similar for our warehouse. Long periods of not working shoulder to shoulder with other. I get the desire for some music and compliance / enforcement of no earbuds / headphone policy is a challenge to say the least. Hoping this could be a reasonable compromise as I don't want to open it up to Bluetooth speakers and the inevitable travelling DJ's.
