The holiday season poses risks for employees visiting homes with dogs!
During the holiday season, the risk of being attacked by the family dog increases. If you're visiting customers' homes, exercise extra caution. More people to let the dog out, and there could be additional dogs visiting with family. With more family members around, the dog feels reinforced. Keep in mind, dogs are pack animals!

When I worked as a firefighter, we always asked people to move the dogs out of the room where we treated patients. Dogs don't understand what we are doing.
We were doing CPR one morning and a dog bit my paramedic right on the ass. We laughed after the call but he was not happy when it happened.

If any you walked into my house our #6 Golden Retriever, Gus, he would show you the family jewels and expensive silverware, wagging his tail the entire time. Of our 6 there has only been one that would ever bite a human and that would only be if he thought you were a threat to my wife and especially me! Jack, #3 was a huge Golden, massive head and chest, and over 100 pounds. He was the for the most part a gentle giant but if he thought your were a threat would go from gentle giant to a raving monster in the blink of an eye! He was by far the strongest dog I ever owned, and at I am 230 pounds, 6'4". With a pinch collar if he was mad I could barely hold him back.
Other dogs could be a problem. If the other dog was friendly Jack would wag his tail and be friendly in return! But if the other dog showed any aggression. a raised lip, and especially raised fur, Jack immediately attacked with all he had!
I love dogs and think they way they are raised and the breed has a lot to do with it! But even the best behaved dogs are dogs! You are can never be 100% about them! My daughter has two German Shepherd brothers, If you are a stranger I would be very careful walking into her home! If they saw you as any kind of threat to my daughter you would have two big shepherds to deal with!!!! They see me all the time, but I am careful how I approach my daughter when they are around!
