Advanced Safety Certificate
Has anyone obtained the ASC from the National Safety Council? Your opinion of it? Or, their training courses in general? I'm considering that and become a certified CPR instructor through them. I'm interested in ya'lls opinions. Thanks.

As far as the ASC from the NSC, I'll say I've never seen anyone request that on a job posting, so I'd say it's up to you as far as what you think would benefit you. I will say that I've seen more companies recognize OSHA's CSHO certification program (especially in the southern US and the oil and gas industry). The ASC has five years to complete, whereas the CSHO has no time limit. The CSHO also covers more courses, is conducted at OTI's, and can be focused on general industry, construction industry, and healthcare. The CSHO cost is around $4,000 to complete, whereas the ASC ends up being $5k-$5,500 to complete.
Regarding CPR training, NSC follows the American Heart Association (AHA) CPR and ECC guidelines, so you're essentially covering the same content as the AHA, but it's more geared towards the workplace - just like HSI (which is who we are set up through at Arrow Safety). AHA is more geared toward healthcare professionals, whereas NSC and HSI is more geared towards the workplace. I think the NSC is pretty comparable as far as course content, but the reason we chose HSI is because the cost is a lot lower (e.g., certifications, instructor courses, etc.). AHA and Red Cross tend to be the most expensive, overall.
I know there's some people on here who use NSC for CPR training, so maybe they can provide some additional feedback.
