Water Damaged Product Handling
Water intrusion has resulted in pallets of soggy, boxed products. The product is palletized in 5 layers approx. 5' high and wrapped in shrink wrap. Under normal conditions the structural integrity of the cardboard boxes is essential to the stability of the palletized stack. That integrity has been compromised.
How would you go about removing this product from standard 3-tier warehouse racking, assuming you have the necessary forklifts? Would you do this in-house or are there companies and/or equipment who specialize in this?

I have never had to do this, but I have worked with unstable loads in the past. Whenever there is a load that might be unstable, I always get an experienced PIT operator and work with them to develop a plan. You need to work slowly, have a stop signal that everyone knows. Keep everyone away.
