New Outreach Trainer Requirements & Industry Procedures - Effective October 1, 2024
For those of us that train as Approved OSHA Outreach Trainers OSHA has issued updated Trainer Requirements and Industry Procedures. I was sent a letter of that by NSEC my OSHA ATO. You may be hearing from your ATO as well.
The new requirements are now on the "Outreach Training Program (OSHA 10-Hour & 30-Hour Cards)" web page on OSHA.gov under "Program Requirements".

I am only approved for GI so only have to worry about GI Procedures.
As my letter says the changes to the requirements are summarized at the beginning of the documents under the "Record Changes" summary .
I have not had a chance to study the changes in detail but at first glance do not see any big changes in GI.
PS If you look at my picture and see towards the end of the letter mention of Joseph Kauzlarich. I am really sorry to see Joe leave NSEC. If you work with NSEC, I think you found Joe to be very helpful like I have! He was in charge of card distribution. He was always very helpful and patient to a rookie Outreach Trainer 10 years ago, and especially so during those very trying dark Covid Days! I want to publicly thank him and wish him all the best! "Sad to see you go Joe! Good Luck!"

I just downloaded these over the weekend. On the 1926 side, they added several of the same things - mainly for clarification purposes:
• Added trainer update exemption for overseas military service
• Added ineligible training topics (although it was already listed before, they specifically stated that "Training conducted to comply with OSHA standards cannot be counted toward OSHA Outreach Training Program Requirements." in this section)
• Added "Records Retention" section
• Moved a few things around to different parts of the document
