Safer Entry and Exiting Solution?
Do you have any recommendations on a safer solution to enter and exit a large crucible?
The crucible height can vary from ~8 feet tall to ~12 feet.
Currently the method used is a two ladder method, one step ladder to get to the height of the crucible, and then an extension ladder to get down into the crucible.

Pictures would help? What kind of "crucible"? What industry or manufacturing process?
Are you talking about a "crucible" used in a foundry to melt iron or metal? That's the only one I have any experience with and they were a lot bigger than 8'X12'. Very old melting technology going back to the 19th century! I did not think they were around any longer except as antiques.
