OSHA 132-Hour
Has anyone taken this course? If so, is it worth it?

I'm currently doing this course. I find it interesting and it is helping me. I have a binder that is huge with resources from the classes. I've already put it into use.

I think it can be beneficial, as it appears to cover a lot of topics. With that being said, it's not a commonly known course that would typically be recognized on a resume. However, if you're using it for personal professional development, take all the courses you can get your hands on!

Do you mind sharing where you are taking it through? I have never heard of it, but very interested.

The marketing sure looks very good! Great Website!!! Might be great but I do not know. Never heard of if till I was talking with Sandra P the other day!
My only concern is that you know it is a course about OSHA but it is NOT approved, certified, or even recognized by OSHA. it is not from an Authorized Training Center (called and OSHA ATO). OSHA ATOs are located at Public Universities, Junior an Technical Colleges. Those of us that get our Authorized OSHA Courses (510, 500, and 502 for Construction and 511, 501, and 503 for Gen Ind) get our courses from OSHA ATOs. When I teach an OSHA 30 or 10 hour course I order my cards from my ATO located at Northern Ill University (National Safety Education Center - NSEC). NSEC covers Ill, WI and MN.
The OSHA Academy looks like they have been authorized to train OSHA 30 and 10 Hour courses online! That is really something as OSHA makes them go through "hoops" to do so. I know I have tried! Whether use them online or get your card through someone like me in a classroom is sort of like a "taste" for online or classroom instruction! But the OSHA Academy is bottom line a private Safety Training Consulting Firm like Safety Fitz.
So I would be interested to know your opinion on 132 after you have taken it. I am old school and I got my OSHA 10 & 30 an then took 511, 501, and 503 (3 times). Not only did I learn OSHA in all these courses but they also gave me lots of training tips and I met a lot of neat people in these courses! I have taken 503 three times because I have to be "re-authorized" every 4 years. It also catches me up.
My two cents is the real OSHA (511, 501, and 503) classes have severed me better. Now that I am semi-retired I get paid to train 10 & 30 Hour Cards! (I learn from my students too). As you can tell I LOVE to talk to and meet new people! If you want to pay me on top of that why not????
