New to EHS
Hi everyone. I am new to the field and honestly could use a lot of advice. Glad I was told about this site.

Welcome to Safety Knights, and welcome to the industry! There's a wealth of knowledge on this platform, so if any of us can assist with anything, feel free to reach out.

I have been in Safety & Health for a very very long time! I was in it when you were in "Personnel" and they just made you the "Safety Guy"! When I started in management OSHA was 4 years old! No one ever heard of "EHS", "HSE", "HR", "ISO", "ANSI", "Haz Com", "MOC", "Lean", "Microsoft", "PCs", "Cell Phones", or "Supply Chain". Lockout was a NEW term! When I first sat down in front of a Mechanical Press to have my pull-back guards adjusted, OSHA had just been signed into law! Of course we did the OSHA 300 with a pencil, had secretaries to type for us on typewriters and get coffee, and used slide rules! I have seen an awful lot!
If I can be of further service let me know! If I do not know the answer someone else will on this site! Welcome to the field!

Welcome to the community Sandy!
One question, when you are building policies and procedures do you often put the osha codes with them? I could see it for policy maybe not procedures.

Hello, Sandy. What sort of areas interest you as you come into the field?

Welcome to the team! I've only got 3 years (officially) under my belt. Spent the other 16 as the "safety gal" and finally got my degree in 2020. I soak up as much advise as I can from this crew. 😊
