Course accreditation
Hi all,
Wondering if anyone knows what the common accreditation service is for EHS / OSHA courses is? I.e. if I wanted to build an online class, what accreditation should I have for it?
This is one of the more common ones I found:

Thanks!

Accreditation for what? Certification credit, or academic (college) credit?
I know when I would have to re-cert for my PHR I just put down the OSHA 511, 501, and 503 courses and SHRM and/or HRCI took them. I do not know about the CSP and ASP? My last PHR recert was 2017.
College credit use to be through the North Central Association. If the college was accredited through NCA another NCA school pretty much accepted them. I got my MS in 1996, so probably much has changed I am sure.

IACET is the main one across the board. However, some states may require state-specific accreditation. For example, we did some work for a customer in Texas and they wanted to use our training courses to submit for their CEUs through Texas's department of environmental quality (DEQ - or whatever it's called), which required us to submit our training materials to the state of Texas, pay $150 or so for each individual training course to be reviewed, then see if they approve it so that we can issue Texas-specific CEUs. I think the fee was an annual fee, too, so it got to be pretty costly.
Unless there's a state-specific requirement, most places don't need to be IACET-accredited, though. All of the recert hours/CEUs I submitted for my CSP and CHMM renewals were from courses that were NOT IACET-accredited and they had no issue with it. Not sure about CIH, though.

I may be a little of course here, no pun intended but I believe it all depends on the organization of which the individual is seeking authorization. I would also say that as long as you are an authorized trainer for the OSHA courses through whatever organization in your area the courses would be accepted for the vast majority.

IASHEP is accredited by IACET. I want you to know that reaching accreditation is a long process and costs a lot of money. What kind of course do you have? Maybe, I can give you some guidance. Please feel free to give me a call at (612) 80101032. My name is Jack. Let me know that you saw this message on this website. God bless,.
