DHA Support
G'day friends.
Here I am again with another opportunity. Who ya got for DHAs (i.e. dust hazard analyses)?
What I'm looking for:
- Someone who does *predominantly* combustible dust work. (I have done DHAs, but I want someone who does them regularly.)
- Ideally, an independent contractor. I'll also take a small firm.
- Someone whose clients would give them good reviews.
This would be a really good start. Let me know if you have any recommendations. Thank you, thank you!

@Tim Kohanski, know of anyone?

I have used Airdusco for our combustible dust DHA which they completed last year. We used them at my previous company as well (food manufacturing).
I was so pleased that I used them for follow-up work, including getting a referral from them for a different company to perform grounding and bonding surveys. I had them come onsite after the DHA for performing ventilation audits of our dust collection systems.
They're truly an all-in-one provider for services. They can do the DHA, provide follow up that is impartial, and dont "push" their other services unless asked. They're a go-to for many in our industry and have experts galore. They regularly reach out to me to see if we need additional help or have any questions, and are more than happy to give follow-up clarification or meetings. They can create trainings, will look over your own, and more. The president of the small firm even attends the meetings to ensure that clients get exactly what they need.
I have seen their DHA reports compared to others. Yes, Airdusco is more expensive, but their DHA reports are THOROUGH. If you'd like to see what it looks like, shoot me a DM and I can set up a Teams call to show you what ours looked like from them.
And no, I don't work for them or get paid to say this LOL. But I've become fast friends with the consultants there and am very pleased with their work.

I used Safety Management Services out of Utah for a DHA (they specialize in combustible dust and explosives), as well as multiple PHAs. I added the link below to their website. I worked with Jordan Dzubak who was super knowledgeable and a great facilitator for the DHA and PHAs. Our reports were well written and thorough. Hope this helps!

I have used both in the past. Most companies will just send their samples out to Fauske anyways. So, just take your own sample and send it to them. They have a PDF on how to take the samples and ship, usually they ask for around 400grams for the go / no-go testing, which cost around $700 to perform. If the dust is a go, then you are looking at another 3200 to get your MIE, MIT, MEC, Pmax, and Kst, ect.... Once this testing is complete, you then can set up a DHA or PHA with them or some one else.
If your dust is a no-go - You will not need a PHA/DHA
Any questions, feel free to ask as I have dealt with dust from polymers and carbon.

I have used DEKRA in the past.

Thanks, everybody, for your support and feedback on this!
We have used Fike for testing.
