Holiday Safety
Do you love decorating for the holidays? If you said yes, you might want to read this:
-U.S. fire departments respond to an average of 790 home structure fires per year that began from decorations, not including Christmas trees
-On average there are an additional 150 home fires started by Christmas trees every year.
It makes me think, did the Grinch really hate Christmas? Or was he just looking after everyone’s home safety by taking away their decorations? Heroic work if you ask me.
How can you avoid being a part of those statistics? Some helpful tips below:
-Make sure your tree is at least 3 feet away from fireplaces, radiators, and other heat sources.
-If you have a live tree, cut off about 2 inches of the truck to expose fresh wood for better water absorption, remember to water it, and remove it from your home when it is dry.
-Only use indoor lights indoors and outdoor lights outdoors.
-Replace light sets that have broken or cracked sockets, frayed or bare wires, or loose connections.
-Christmas tree lights should never be left on overnight.
Happy Holidays,

1) Awesome article
2) That pupper is adorable!

Good Article. We have not had a live tree in the house in 30 years, not since the daughters were very young. (Now all three are in their late 30s an early 40s).
Great looking dog! he looks Iike I feel about the job!
My wife and I would fight constantly over the lights inside and out. Several years ago, I just said I was out! I was tired of fighting over something I could care less about! I told her she could do or spend what ever she wanted, even hire someone to do it, but I was just done! We have both been much happier since!
