Are Gas Cylinder Regulator Protector Safety Caps required when cylinders are hooked up to regulators
Curious if anyone can point me to the right place or know the answer to this. I know cylinders not in use need to be capped. However, what about cylinders hooked up to the regulators in use? Do they need a cylinder regulator protector safety cap such as the one pictured? I know when transporting but what about in a shop situation? Either way, I could see it as a good practice for protection.

Not required by OSHA, but I like seeing them as a best practice.

NFPA doesn't require them either when the cylinder is connected for use.

Mike and Drew are right on!
A year or so ago I asked a similar question, although now that I think about it, mine was,
"If the unit was not being used (within 24-Hours) did it need to be unhooked, disengaged, or the regulator taken off the tanks". Off the top of my head I do not recall what Drew said then?
What did you say Drew? I imagine it is similar to above.
