Non Work Related Health Programs
My company is self insured for health insurance. I was wondering if any of you guys have programs to encourage healthy lifestyles at home for family members. Anything come to mind?

I've used a few contract programs including this one:

My current organization runs an in-house program. ASSP and NIOSH/CDC have a lot of Total Worker Health (TWH) resources. Mayo Clinic has some resources as well.

Check with any local occ med providers in your area. Sometimes they have programs. The National Safety Council also publishes a good Family related safety magazine.

Any of the big TPAs (United, Blue Cross, Aetna, Liberty Mutual, and Travelers) will help you with this. They all have programs for this. You have to have a TPA (Third Party Administrator). Although keep in mind they get paid on a % of the total claims they administer, so the higher the claims the more they make. Although your Corporate HR and Risk Managers try to build incentives in the get the TPA to lower cost.
In most ways WC works the same way. Most of the major WC Insurance companies sell insurance to smaller employers and are TPAs to big employers at the same time.
Tom has good advice above too! Your local SHRM Chapter and Safety Council may have good info too. Finally network with other employers in you area, the local hospital and even the YMCA.

Yes! OrthoLive does that. Not sure who asked but would love to explain more. Shoot me a message here or text me at 5165212206 or email me jerrycook@ortholive.com
