“You wearing safety toe shoes?”… “oh yeah.”… “You SURE?”
People who aren’t wearing their proper safety toe shoes admit it readily when I walk around with a hammer in my hand. Never actually need to use it on peoples’ toes. 😇
The moral of the story:
Be JUST unhinged enough that folks aren’t sure if you’re joking around or not.

Haha!

Can we do the same with a taser and electrical gloves?
I use $$. My program allows $200 every other year, but must meet our requirements before I authorize for reimbursement. I do like the ball peen method as well though

Managers hate when I do this 😩

This is a good idea. Management would not support my mini bat idea. I was going to have PPE detection device written on the side. But no I not allowed to hit team members anymore.

I do not know if I would go that far. You look at enough shoes you can tell if they are safety toes or not.
Once a long time ago I was a foundry Gen, Foreman. Since we were working with 1-85 pound castings, lots of hammers, and other heavy objects we were all required to wear steel toes with metarsal guards. In the Press and Cleaning Department next to mine, there was a supervisor who was on the small side, and reminded me of a little dog. In his crew he had an arrogant son of the CEO of the entire company. He was one of the most worthless guys I ever worked with in 50 years and he always thru his name around. I had noticed my friend the little supervisor, Steve, arguing with the CEO's (Charlie) son. It was really heated so at 6'4" and 220 I headed over that way to get them apart. Steve pointed at Charlie's tennis shoes and yelled, "There is no way those are safety shoes!" Now go get yours on!" Charlie yells right in his face, "Yes they are, they are new and comfortable!" To my shock and before I could get there, Steve lifts up his right foot with a big foundry boot, and crushes it into Charlie's right foot at the toes. Charlie screams and throws a hard punch into Steve's face and literally knocks him on his butt! I get there an order Charlie to the office and ask people to get Steve to the nurse in First Aid!
It was a Union shop so I got the UAW Union steward and went in the office. I suspended Charlie and got him out of the plant pending further investigation. Steve went to the hospital. I knew the union would right a grievance as Steve started the physical stuff and there were plenty of witnesses including me. That night I handled the first and second steps as I was the General Foreman and turned it over to Personnel. The next day I the CEO called me and wanted me to tell him the story. So I did, I further said, "Chuck I know you are an old foundryman, but Charlie is not cut out for it. He is a constant pain and argues with everyone. It is to dangerous."
