BBP Kits
We have BBP kits that are provided through Cintas. One of ours had the plastic wrap taken off the outside of the box but all the contents inside were still there and did not look to be tampered with. The service rep said they had to replace it because of the plastic wrap being taken off and that its an OSHA requirement. I have not found said requirement stating this. Is this just something Cintas does to charge for more? I find it a little ridiculous.

It is not an OSHA requirement to be sealed. Sounds like they're just trying to charge you for stuff.
Just think - hospitals, Fire/EMS, etc. use all of those same contents that are in your BBP kit, and are they sealed? Nope!
Does it help to be sealed? Sure - it ensures they haven't been contaminated. However, it's not an OSHA requirement.
Having it in a sealed wrapper when needed is not a good thing, one extra step, a break away seal allows for quick visual inspection and ease of access in an emergency.
Cintas is makin (more) money!
Agree - definitely a moneymaking policy.
I have not had a good experience with Cintas as far as overstocking and other opportunities to charge clients when not exactly needed, unfortunately. We have removed them from all contracts except AED maintenance.
Have you looked at CINTAS stock price? It's doubled in the past 5 years, there's a reason for that lol
How can you inspect the kit with the wrap on? What if it is missing items from the manufacturer?
The same with an expiration date. Is it really no longer good? On the MSHA side, they can’t write a citation based only on an expiration date.
When does activated charcoal expire? Why does it have an expiration date?
Most BPP kits have a safety seal mounting hole and that is all that is required, just like a portable first aid kit. sound like the Cintas rep is looking to make some money by selling you new ones(that's there commission) , we have had this in the past with this company and we set perimeters for what they can replace and what they need approval from the safety manager for replacement. there is a expiration date on the case and each box inside
