Safety Training Video Recommendations
I'm looking into replacing our suite of safety training DVDs with USB videos for a manufacturing facility. These cover rolling stock, LOTO, fall protection, confined space, etc.
What I'd like to do is find some modern quality videos that are more likely to be engaging than our old DVDs. What I've noticed so far is that many of the videos available online were produced quite a long time ago and have that "hokeyness" we're all familiar with.
Does anyone have recommendations for where quality safety USB videos can be purchased?
Thanks!

I am not familiar with a lot of computer-based training (CBT) or videos, but whatever you do, just keep in mind that it will need to be supplemented with your own site-specific information. Training videos can not be standalone training programs.

They aren't USB but we use SafetySkills for our training. The videos are modern and interactive. Have questions after every lesson and when incorrect, it bounces the trainee back to the part of the video that has the answer. So they cannot move on till they get them correct. Each section of video is only a couple minutes long till it forces the trainee to hit "Next" to continue so someone cannot just sit and watch with a blank stare. Had it for about a year now and am very pleased.

There is one safety video that is priceless if you can find it, especially if you have employees lifting during their work!
As a site HR/EHS Manager in a machining and assembly plant of 500 we average at one time 8-12 serious back injuries, primarily to improper and unsafe lifting. Since we also had MDSs we started and active Ergo Team. In problem solving we had three types of Ergo Injuries. We identified in three groups:
#1 Lifting
#2 MSDs (with these first two the most numerous)
#3 Office Ergo issues (some neck and a few Carpal Tunnel).
We started three sub teams. The Lifting Team seemed to have the "lowest hanging fruit". First we video taped employees lifting. With the help of the local Physical Therapist we identified that many of our employees were using the very dangerous "Crane-Technique" of lifting, plus they were compounding the danger of twisting as they were lifting. The Therapist suggested we train our employees in Safe Lifting Techniques. Also he recommended this movie:

"PowerLift: Lifting Techniques for a Healthy Back" This above link also has a free pdf.
They tie their program into the ""Industrial Athlete" concept.
In any case, we trained all our employees in the above concepts. A few months later we created a "Lifting Lab" where all new employees were trained in Safe Lifting Techniques. All current employees are trained at least annually with some departments more often depending on risk. Shipping for example was 4 times per year.
To make a long story short we did all this in 2012. For the next 5 years up until my retirement we had 0 Recordable injuries for back injuries. I was recently at the plant for a visit, and they have refined and made the "Lifting Lab" part of an overall "Safety Lab" where other competencies are learned, like lockout and PIT Operation to name a couple.
PS If you call American Training Resource and ask for "Jenn". Tell her "Fitz" said to call!

I have not personally used SafetySkills.com before but have talked to them in the past. From what I was told they are constantly updating their videos to keep them fresh.

I'm assuming you're not looking for an LMS to replace with cloud based videos?
