Fireworks Story.
The picture is from the OSHA.gov website a good share of us get in our daily email brought a smile, but scary memory to mind:
Three years ago my grandsons, 11 and 9 at the time, were visiting Grandma and Grandpa here in Wisconsin from Florida (now in Utah). It was early July and we were very close to the 4th. My grandsons and I went to breakfast one morning (one of my favorite things to do) and drove passed the local Walmart. We saw a large circus type tent at the very front of their parking lot with a "Fireworks" sign in front of it. Oldest grandson says, "Grandpa can we get some fireworks for the Cookout we are having tonight?" Doing what grandpa's do I said, "Let's find out, we will ask your Mom and Dad." I stopped the truck and called oldest daughter and asked her if the boys could get some sparklers and SMALL fire crackers. She asked son-in-law and she came back and said. "Sure!"
So I take my grandsons in tow and start walking to the big tent. As I approach I immediately see 24 large boxes with "Fireworks" and labeling that say "Extremely Flammable" and "No-Smoking". The boxes are arranged in a rough U. They I see a man sitting in the middle of the U sitting on a lawn chair in front of a table with fireworks stacked all over it! Then I took a closer look and saw he had a lighted cigarette in his mouth with a white bucket at his feet with butts.
I stopped an told my grandkids to walk back to the truck, "Now!" I yelled at the guy and said, "What the heck are you doing? Don't you read your own signs? Put that butt out before you blow us all up!" He called me a name I did not want my grandkids to hear. So I turned around.
When I got to my truck I pushed the "On-Star" button and told them what I was seeing! I said, "Boys let's go eat and we will come back!" We came back 90 minutes later and the entire tent was gone!
Had to drive all over town looking for fireworks then! I am not sure what happened but someone told them to leave.

Personally, I dislike neighborhood fireworks due to the less-cautious segment of the population. However my sentiment is unpopular. Link below shows local fireworks across the Los Angeles area. The larger displays are obviously city displays, however the neighborhood stuff is nonstop all night.
