OSHA 10 and 30 Outreach Trainers
Hi Ladies and Gents,
I have been trying to figure out pricing for training classes. If ya don't mind me asking,
What are you charging for your OSHA 10 and 30 classes?
Do you change it to meet the size? price breaks? discounts?
Thanks for any help

I do $200 for OSHA 10 and $400 for OSHA 30. I do 10% discounts for all new customers and group discounts for groups of 20 or more.
It's hard to compete with the prices of online OSHA 10 and 30 courses, though.

I have taught OSHA GI Outreach for a long time. All of mine is through a Tech School or with a single customer (primarily Manufacturing). Drew is correct, awfully hard to compete with online courses! However, I can sell the advantages of classroom training. I know some of my friends charge per student, but I charge by the hour, so far. I have consulting arrangements in which I get a monthly retainer. I give those customers either a great deal or do it for free (for very good customers). For the Tech Schools I do several classes for them and charge a reduced fee to as a consultant (NOT as an Adjunct Instructor - Wi Tech College System pays a flat $39.50 per hour for all courses taught by Adjuncts- I won't teach Safety and esp Outreach for that).
My hourly rates are all over the place, ranging from $100/hr (for a great customer I have other business) to $175 (for someone that wants a one shot deal) for 3-10 students. Eleven or more students I add 20% to 30%. If they want specific training materials that is an add on too, price per student depending on topics, in WI I have to charge sales tax for those so I try to avoid those. I will give the 4 mandatory handouts to the customer to make copies for the students.
I know the Technical College I work for charges $365 for a 10-Hour and $765 for 30-Hour per student. Enrollment is on the decline as I use to teach 2 of each course per semester, and now down to one each per year, if I am lucky.
I maybe developing an OHSA 30-Hour for HR Managers through the local SHRM and/or Chamber and am interested on the comments on prices per student. Might be more like 33-35 hours as I want to add some Workers Comp to the course (OSHA won't buy the extra on WC).
Construction Outreach Instructors are hard to find in this area. I get calls frequently on that one. I have thought about getting it that but barely know the difference in a claw-hammer and roofing hammer, and forget using a square! I am a ball-peen man!

Following out of pure curiosity. I got authorized so I can train our own employees on the cheap... but as a side gig this info would be good to know.
Are companies willing to pay an individual? Or would it be worth it to set up a business license or something?
