Professional Development and Pay
I will complete my masters in OS&H in July, and will sit for (and hopefully pass on the first attempt) the CSP exam in August. After that: When and how should I approach HR? Should I request a raise, or provide my new credentials as if to say, “Just for your information (hint, hint)”. Do I wait until the next annual pay adjustment?
What’s been your approach and what was your employers response?

My employer doesn't give raises for this type of stuff, unfortunately.
If there is a possibility that they would give you raise, I would reach out to HR or your boss to see about the process.

I got a solid high five and nothing more when I got my masters in safety. Once I also got my CSP I got a slight bump in pay. Seems like degrees in your occupation doesn’t mean as much as passing a dumb test (certifications).

It is my experience that unless your employer has asked or suggested that you pursue a degree, you're not likely to see much benefit from it. From their perspective, you're still doing the same job, filling the same role. If it qualifies you for a promotion, that's a difference story. Usually to get any meaningful bump in pay you'll have to apply for a new position that your new degree qualifies you for.
Just my experience.

BCSP and ASSP release a salary survey. You could potentially use it to show your new economic value based on achieving your CSP and masters degree.
