LockOut TagOut Program QR Codes
I am trying to set up my lockout tagout program for maintenance workers to quickly access the documents outlining how each machine needs to be locked out.
My Idea:
QR codes on each piece of equipment linked to the document.
Problems:
I don't know how to do this. Does anyone know a program that will accomplish this or a way to do this? Preferably one that is free to use.
Background on facility:
machines move from 1 room to the next so my traditional way to making a binder and putting it in 1 place in a room does not work. We also use chemicals that tear up laminated forms so attaching them to the equipment is also problematic.

This seems to be a reliable free QR Code generator. Just need to create an account.

Hopefully this helps! Would be interested to hear how that goes for you.
If you can put them into Google Drive, you can generate a QR code for any file using Google Chrome, you just have to make sure sharing rights are enabled. The google QR code generator is under the "share" arrow at the right side of the address bar.
To note, you can make QR codes for ANY web address this way. Make one that goes to your SDS page, procedures, forms, incident reporting portal, etc.

There are several online QR Code generators available for free that don't required a user account. We have started using them more for everything from SDS to a Safety Suggestion Box, EE Benefits overview, etc.
One other suggestion before you go too far down the path for your LOTO procedures... If your company uses a CMMS system to manage PM's and work orders, most now have the capability to attach documents. Most also have mobile Apps so the maintenance team can manage their work from the floor. This allows them access to the LOTO procedures where needed and you can still manage them in a controlled document library.

Make sure you choose your free QR code generator wisely. Some of them will start sneaking in advertisements before the user gets to the intended destination. The link below is one I’ve been using for over a year so far with no issues.

SHUT THE F...ront door! I had never noticed Chrome's QR feature. Wow, Chris, this is a game-changer. No more maxing out my trial logins for assorted QR generator sites. Thank you!

I know Brady 360 LOTO software can do this.
