Work Trucks
Anyone have DOT or Company policy info for flammables on work trucks. Specifically ones with truck mounted Welders.
DOT regs for driving down the road and storage ideas but also while on scene and using the welder (ignition source) while this is all in there.
These also have the potential to carry Gasoline, Diesel, Propane, Oxygen, acetylene and other fun stuff.
Amounts allowed
Ways to secure
Storage
During welding procedures
While driving
Etc
TIA

What kind of welder? At a minimum, flammables and combustibles should be at least 35 feet away while performing hot work operations in accordance with NFPA 51B. Make sure to perform air monitoring to verify there is not a flammable atmosphere present, also in accordance with NFPA 51B.
Acetylene (fuel-gas) needs to be separated from oxygen (oxidizer) by a 5 ft. noncombustible barrier with a 1/2 hour fire rating. If they're welding in close proximity to the truck, I would either use welding blankets or curtains in the area to cover/protect everything.
Do all of the hazardous materials fall under the DOT materials or trade (MoT) exemption? That's how you'd determine how much is allowed. Once you go over the MoT quantities, you may run into needing a CDL and HAZMAT endorsements.
I'd move the welding cylinders towards the front of the bed, if possible, so it can't move under hard braking. There's really no specific way to secure them, but a lot of people use ratchet straps. OSHA also requires them to be secured in the upright position.

This is perfect. I needed this as well.
