What type of work are you performing? I've done quite a bit of work in distilleries since I'm from Kentucky, haha.

Yeah, don't smoke inside the plant John :P

All kinds of them. If you are making good Bourbon I will sacrifice myself to come down and assist if there are free samples involved! Although with free samples my judgment is only good for about 20 minutes!

Hmm i'd prioritize flammable liquids, confined spaces, PPE, EAP/fire prevention.
But when you first start, make yourself visible on the floor!! Meet EVERYONE. SHake hands with EVERYONE, all the operators on the floor. Meet the Maintenance staff especially and make friends with the grumpiest bastard on staff. Making friends with maintenance can save your butt when you need something fixed/changed/modified ASAP for a safety issue. They also know the ins and outs of all the equipment and are invaluable help for LOTO.
I made it my goal to befriend the grumpiest people in the plant, make myself known and visible as help, and spend at least 30 minutes on the floor every day just saying "hi" and chatting with operators. They are your eyes and ears on what's occurring on the floor.
