Scissor Lift vs Ladder
Does anyone have a standard "cut off" height of when to use a scissor lift vs a ladder. A little context, I work for a fire protection company so most of our work uses ladders. Some jobs we rent lifts for if needed but it has come up recently about the height at which we have to get a lift for the job.

I "third" and "fourth" all the opinions so far! Ladders last if you have a choice.

Several companies we have worked with have a "ladders last" program to get employee's focused on trying to identify a better way to complete a task. Some have gone as far as implementing an extra permit to justify the use of a ladder. Anyone who has ever been 38 ft. up on a ladder, would probably prefer the scissor lift.

I am with Drew on this one. I have not heard of a cut-off height. However, when I worked Utility Constuction with some powerhouse companies, their expectations were a boom or scissor lift over a ladder unless there was no access with the lifts.

I have not heard of any cut-off height. All a preference and based on if you have a big enough ladder.
