Skid Steer Train the Trainer
I'm finding that Powered Industrial Trucks doesn't apply to skid steers.
Looking for any insights on the following:
1. What level of training standard applies to achieve train the trainer status for skid steer operation?
2. What frequency of refresher training for skid steer operation is required, if any.

As far as train-the-trainer, a general recommendation is to be an operator of the equipment you're training on, as well as go through a instructor fundamentals course (how to teach the course). I typically do every 3 years on all mobile equipment except mobile cranes (5 years)

I have also just let them get OTJ with an experienced individual. I never thought about a train-the-trainer for something like this.
I really like Drew's response.
Best practices of 3 years and then retrain for Train the Trainer on PITS, and other equipment not covered under PIT. I run the classroom, competency quiz, with discussion. I also have a course with checklist of tasks necessary to prove skills are present in operators. As I am not a daily, weekly, or even monthly operator I "farm" the operational portion out to others that are. I get a checklist/quiz back of hard skills and then will sign off.
