Flashback!
Today I was at a customer. My contact discussed some projects we were working on and it got time for me to go out and take a plant audit. As I was getting my vest on she said, "We gotta get out in the plant now! Some lady ssut got hit by a lift truck! As long as you are here I want you to come along!" So we went together.
Now as we walked to where we had to go I felt the old blood pressure and excitement build. Now it has been 5 years since I have been back in the saddle on actually an accident investigation in real time!" When we got there they had the lady with her foot propped up and we asked her several questions while waiting for the EMS people. After that happened we took measurements, pictures, and looked at the plant videos.
As we are doing all that I felt that old sick feeling I got after every accident, that somehow I had failed, and for sure the process did! It should not have happened! They never do!
About an hour later I advised and then left the plant. Under an overcast day, I looked up and said, "God, Thank You I don't do this for a living anymore!"
