Tech for Forklifts?
What are you using to inspect your forklifts? Is it a paper checklist, QR code, badge reader. Let me hear your cool way to do this

When I worked at Amazon, the forklifts required a badge to operate and the checklist came out on a screen in the forklift. I had to be filled out prior to operating.

I've used both in the past. At the chemical plant I worked at, similar to what Michael mentioned, when they started the forklift it would require you to fill out the inspection on the iPad they used for scanning products. I think it was called Yale Vision or something like that.
InfoLink. Badge access, electronically documented mandatory pre-use inspection daily, impact monitoring that shuts it down if impacts are detected and the supervisor has to unlock, etc. Very happy with it.

Following this, because 2 of our departments are still using a paper form, while a third is using a much better Sharepoint checklist.

I have a customer that uses a big grease board next to each PIT. On the boards is the checklist. Each shift the operator uses a non-permanent marker to complete it. The Supervisor takes a picture of each board each shift. Then stored in a cloud, At the end of the shift when the operator parked his truck, he erased the board.

I have used several different variations of this through manufacturing and even construction. They are a great tool to help monitor your forklift programs and not much of a cost.

Thanks gang! Currently, maintenance does the inspection (which is seldom) and stupid IMHO, no proper designation for PIT, it is the wild west for this. However, this was low hanging fruit. Now that I've curbed the other fires and moved into the Director role over all manufacturing, I want to remove the human element completely with an engineering solution. I like the info link idea! Thank you!
