Hoist Safety Awareness
Hello, does anyone here have a hoist safety awareness training you wouldn't mind sharing?
Thank you,

Are you talking about a chain hoist? Or a hoist on a jib crane?

Lots online on "Cranes." 15 years ago I tried to find hoist training when we had one come down on an employee. One of the bolts holding an I-Beam Brackets came lose. Just the day before we had the all the hoists and cranes in the plant certified as safe by a Certified External Technician. As it turned out in a post-accident drug test the employee tested positive for marijuana. He had a broken eye socket. We were careful not to fire him while he was on WC (a HUGE NO NO from WC and OSHA), but upon his return to work quickly terminated him for being under the influence of an illegal drug, and had a last change warning on is record for a previous incident, being careful to not link the accident to it. He was angry and threatened to call OSHA which he did.
We were not concerned as we had an extensive Accident Investigation and thorough corrective actions (of which were re-inspection/certification of all hoists and cranes, a shift safety checklist for hoists and cranes, and training, hence my search). The CSHO showed up and we went over all with him. He asked not copies of our inspections, and re-inspections and he left. Was in the plant 45 minutes and left. Never asked about the discharge. Never heard anything back.
In any case I ended up making my own training. When I am in my office next week on my main PC I will look in my files and see if I can find it. I do not have access to those files on this laptop.
