Locks for 480v Breakers
We are looking to add locks to the breakers so that only maintenance and supervisors have access to. Can we use metal locks? If not, will plastic LOTO locks work? If the latter, do we need to follow OSHA LOTO rules? I ask, as this not to de-energize but merely restrict access.

What specifically are you putting the locks on? On the panel cover/door?

It’s just a standard circuit breaker panel?

We use distinct color plastic body, metal hasp locks on areas that only maintenance is supposed to access. The color is different than any of the LOTO programs and isn't a part of the LOTO programs. It's considered a general access control.
