New Safety Program
Hi everyone. I’m new to this group and looking for some help. I start a new job next week and one of the responsibilities is to develop a safety SOP (stand operating procedure) for the company. They hired me to rejuvenate what they call a safety program. Does anyone have a safety program manual/ template they could email me?

First off, welcome! I know there are a bunch of consulting folks on here who can help you update it. Are you the only safety person at your new company?

Welcome Bryan :) we are happy to have you! Let me know if you need any help establishing your program: Brandy@TriangleSafetyLLC.com

A safety manual is different than a SOP. Is there a specific SOP you're having to focus on first?

Many procedures and forms to share with specific focus from the energy industry that do transcend other industries. Can definitely share an example to see if that is what you are looking for.

If there is anything I can do let me know! It is a tall order to give you all my safety programs. You would need a rather large external dive to hold all my files. I would urge you to learn something about the work and the culture you are walking into! Get out in the plant or facility and talk to supervisors and employees. See and feel the work and the hazards! What are the employee concerns and what are they likes? In my opinion, and we have lots here, I do not think you can do much till you understand the baseline, where you are at now. Then you can plan where you want to go! In short, you facility has a culture! What is it? If you need help there after I can give you all kinds of stuff! Feel free to email me at fitz@safetyfitz.com

Congratulations on your new job/role! I just started a new position at a chemical plant (Sulfuric Acid) Regeneration. I will be happy to share anything with you as well. Just like all our members in the group mentioned, get to know the people and connect with the leaders.
