Safety Book Recommendations!?
Looking for any recommendations you may have for safety related books you’ve loved!
Less interested in compliance based… more interested in psychological/behavior safety, business/leadership EHS and building safety cultures.
Thanks!

I’ve read these and highly recommend:
There Are No Accidents by Jessie Singer
No Ego by Cy Wakeman
Bullshit Jobs by David Graeber
These two are on my shelf to read:
The 4 Stages of Psychological Safety by Timothy Clark
The Fearless Organization by Amy Edmondson

"Safety" Books I would defer to the pros.
Management and Leadership is my thing! First in Graduate School I had to read, "The Guns of August". I really could not believe I had to read it in a Management Strategy graduate course and I am a History nut so, right up my alley! Book was written in 1962 and won a Pulitzer Prize. It was one of President Kennedy's favorite books, even though it came out just a year before he died. The book describes probably the most consequential month for sure of the 20th Century and maybe the last 1000 years! A month where all previous history came together and all subsequent history succeeded! August 1914. The world teetered on World War with millions of lives at stake! Talks about the strategies of the great powers and how close war could have been avoided. What is really ironic is when you learn the three major leaders of the Great Powers were first cousins and grew up with each other! They were Queen Victoria's Grandsons! Can you imagine sending millions of men to their deaths against your cousin? Just to name a couple results of those decisions is the Russian Revolution, and many say a continuation of that war to a much larger one 25 years later! Just a fascinating book on strategy and human behavior and how not to manage both! I easily wrote a 50-page required paper on the book. Easiest school assignment I ever had.

The next was the book that was all the rave pre-Lean about 1985 - 1990! The Goal. About a young man given the responsibility of being a Plant Manager who was too immature and inexperienced. Means a lot to me as I lived that experience too!
