My Absence
Hey all. I have been gone but y’all have not been forgotten. From May to late September I was working in Richmond KY destroying chemical weapons. It was fun and my safety role was indirect. I was consulting for the overall operation of the processing. I was also skydiving almost every weekend near Cincinnati OH. On my 13th jump I broke my ankle that ended my consulting gig. No weight bearing and as a contractor they were under no obligation to keep me employed. I was overseeing some remodeling work at our house until 10 days ago when we had to travel to California. My father passed away last week after a long illness last Wednesday. I am still processing the 5 stages of grief. My father and I were close. My whole family is close. Anyway I am back home and getting an ankle reevaluation this Wednesday. I did not need surgery and I hope to be in a walking cast after my next set of X-rays. I am going to make an effort to be more involved again. God bless you all.

Hey Daniel, I am sorry to hear about your father. I'll keep you in my thoughts. Glad to have you back.

Sorry for your loss. Lost my dad last December and I am still not over it. Praying you get some respite.

Praying for your situation Daniel. We’re all here if you need

Daniel you and your family are in our prayers. We also hope your ankle heals correctly! I have had four Achilles surgeries, three on one foot in less than 6 months. Seemed like I was in foot and leg brace non-weight bearing for a year! Those carts you rest your knee on sure helped me a lot with mobility. It was fun racing old ladies in Walmart! You never know how much you miss walking until you cannot! I worked my way back into playing basketball at 67. But then my dumb butt Cardiologist asked me in front of my wife, "Are you still playing ball?" I could have shot him as I saw my wife's head jerk to look at him! I immediately said in protest, "Wait a minute! You keep telling me I do not have any "plumbing issues", just electrical issues and you cleared me for anything I want to do! I love to play basketball! I worked hard with Dr XXXX (the Green Bay Packers expert on Achilles) on your suggestion! he has cleared me to play!" He says, "Well it is not your heart! It is your bones! At 68 you just do not heal like you once did!" My wife get is in the car and says, "You prospects of making the NBA are done, Magic! I am laying down the law! No more Basketball, unless shooting around or HORSE with the Grandkids!"

Hi, Danny! Oh my goodness, my friend!!! I'm sending you 100 virtual hugs! I'm happy to hear from you even though your news has my heart breaking for you and your family.
I'm glad to hear you didn't need surgery, and I'm hoping that you get your wish after the next set of xrays. I know I'm not near by where you are, but please reach out if there's anything I can do or if you want to just chat!

Condolences to you and your family on the loss of your Father.
Hope the Ankle heals, I always wanted to skydive, but with L4 and L5 Fused my Doc won't even entertain the idea. (neither will the wife)
Good luck on the recovery, and wishing you inner peace with your grieving process.

Wish you well in your recoveries... Give your troubles to God and live in peace brother, we too are here for you.

So sorry for your loss--I hope you find rest and healing in the days ahead!
