Glass bottles breaking hazard
Hi,
Is there any expert that can help me reduce the risk of glass bottles breaking because they get stuck on a conveyor? We have labour monitoring that the bottle doesn't get stuck, But still, I have seen glass broken on the floor. I have never seen one breaking in front of me but I suppose it will be sudden and could hit someone nearby. Any Suggestions?

What about putting up some plexiglass - could put some doors on it so the worker can access the conveyor if they need

If the hazard is the glass hitting someone, I agree with Dave that you could have a system that blocks any projectiles from being thrown with plexiglass or metal mesh. As for the housekeeping, maybe at the end of every shift, sweeping it up and throwing it in a broken glass box.

Have this covering over the conveyor probably it's to control the projectiles of glass. Yes, Housekeeping and provision of safety shoes. That's what I'm gonna be discussing with the management. Thanks for the support đź’• Safety Knights community.

I agree with “barrier guarding”. Usually relatively cheap and most competent Maintenance Departments can fab and attach relatively easily. Remember you should not use things like wing nuts to attach them to the machine. You need to use a tool to remove. Also I agree with the safety shoes or boots, but I would not forget cut-resistant gloves and safety glasses with side shields if glass is flying around. If there is a lot, face shield or goggles too. Possibly hard hat too. I would be remiss if I didn’t recommend a JSA or JHA on this task or job.
